回复 :年轻时身为战地记者的父亲，在战场上因为镜头反光而暴露目标，为了掩护他一位副连长壮烈牺牲。战争结束后，父亲怀着沉痛的心情来到副连长的家乡看望副连长遗孀，恰逢其妻难产，于是责无旁贷地担起照料恩人妻子的担子，这一切自然遭到他的妻子的误解和不满，一气之下妻子远走国外杳无音讯，直到两年后才让律师来办离婚手续，父亲签字后律师忍不住告诉他，他的前妻已经有了一个他的女儿。而此时，父亲已转业到北方小城，完全担起了副连长家的生活，并与副连长遗孀和女儿组成了一个温暖的三口之家，为了完成副连长“让孩子当体操奥运冠军”的遗愿，父亲从养女叫第一声爸爸开始，就着力培养她学习体操，而父亲远在荷兰的原配妻子得知这一情况后，出于一种复杂的心态，也让父亲的亲生女儿学起了体操……若干年后，父亲的亲生女儿和养女在奥运会上成了竞争对手，而父亲，也面临着是否与前妻重修旧好的选择。

回复 :老奎（陈强 饰）和儿子二子（陈佩斯 饰）在深圳闯荡一番后，回到了北京。见多识广的父子俩决定在北京创业，老奎倾尽积蓄开办了一家卡拉OK厅，并请来他们在车站结识的来京闯荡的小歌手小依（傅艺伟 饰）。卡拉OK厅生意火爆，父子俩渐渐有了钱。二子爱上了小依，小依一方面和二子约会，一方面又傍着老奎给她买这买那，另一方面又和另外一个台湾大款纠葛不清，周旋在三个男人中间……
