回复 :1945年，20岁的少女高丸矢须子（田中好子 饰）为避战乱，乘船前往叔叔闲间重松（北村和夫 饰）家。伴随着刺眼的白光和巨大的爆炸声，来自地狱的黑雨从天而降，须子被迫接受了死神的洗礼。5年后，闲间夫妇将矢须子收为女儿，一家人平静地生活在福山市的小岛村中。原爆给普通民众带来的危害此时已渐渐凸现，受到白光辐射的人们罹患各种病症，正常人对他们敬而远之。亲身经历战争的人也在心中留下巨大创伤，神志错乱，久久无法过回正常生活。美丽的矢须子见证着亲人和朋友所遭受的痛苦和折磨，而最终，战争的幽灵也开始侵蚀她的生命……本片根据井伏鱒二的同名小说改编，并荣获1990年日本学院奖最佳作品、最佳摄影、最佳女主角、最佳导演、最佳编剧、最佳剪辑、最佳灯光、最佳配乐和最佳女配角等多项大奖；1989年戛纳电影节天主教人道精神大奖特别提及和技术大奖。
