回复 :李世民（莫少聪饰）因好友吴国生（黄日华饰）为已丧命而深感内疚，在情义及责任的驱使下，毅然许下承诺，抚养其子星仔（郑家麟饰）。星仔生性反叛，令民无所适从，其妻郭可仪（何婉盈饰）更因此离他而去。星仔顿悟自己的不是，与民相依为命，逐渐建立深厚的父子感情，比亲生父亲更甚。星仔之母叶芳（梁小冰饰）突然出现，与民争取星仔的抚养权，但后来民得知星仔之身世，反而同情芳之遭遇。两人相处日久，民不知不觉爱上芳，可是芳在美国已嫁作人妇，其夫杨文礼（张国强饰）更从美追至。芳处于情义两难间，不知如何取舍，民与星仔又不知会否逃过分离的命运……
