回复 :四周被摩天大厦围绕的一所厂房，居住着一群钟点工。梁大华（李勤勤饰）的丈夫因违反工作规定，造成重伤。一向学业优秀的儿子为了爸爸的医疗费，偷偷上工地打工，险些被学校开除，梁大华卖掉老家的房子，拼命挣钱还债，不停息的穿梭在大厦和豪宅之间，为了挽救富家太太白美燕（周笑莉饰）的生命，梁大华不计前嫌，辞掉做了 多年的老雇主，当了瘫痪在床的白美燕的保姆。洪月娥（刘莉莉饰）为了供养在北京读大学的小儿子钟森的学费，嗜钱如命，不惜将自己和大儿子钟林变成赚钱的机器，当她知道自己得了癌症，儿子瞒着她辍学，竟然也做了钟点工后，洪月娥受到了致命一击。她临终前告诉大儿子钟林，钟森并不是她的亲生骨肉。她和钟林之所以这样拼命的供养钟森念书，就是为了一句承诺。而年轻的周薇，为了照顾失去母亲的法国小女孩乔娜（贝艾玲饰），忍下眼疾的痛苦，错过了最佳治疗期，用打工的钱，为乔娜支付昂贵的药费。美丽善良的柳福巧（陈依莎饰），为了给不育的丈夫治病，从未生育过的她当了月嫂。在这种情况下，她竟然怀上了丈夫的孩子，不仅引起丈夫的猜疑和追打，还招来了一场轩然大波，柳福巧被丈夫逼的流产，最后她选择了：“放弃像狗一样的生活，”她伤心的离开了钟点工们，跟台湾商人白汉煊离开了这座城市。生性笨拙的丽云，终究以善良憨厚的心，赢得了一对老人的信任，当老人自愿的将一套房产赠送给她时，她却拒绝了……一群怀着梦想的小人物，在艰辛多舛的生活中，历经着生存的挑战和磨难。
