故事发生在一座名叫皮塔姆普尔的城市中，亚洲影院那里的王子维杰辛格（萨尔曼·汗 Salman Khan 饰）是一位非常贤明的君主，亚洲影院深受人民的爱戴，不出意外的话，他将会是继承王位的不二人选，这让身为维杰辛格同父异母的弟弟（尼尔·尼汀·穆科什 Neil Nitin Mukesh 饰）感到非常的不爽，他精心设计了一场阴谋，企图谋权篡位。维杰辛格的忠诚为了保护王子，找来了样貌和王子极为相像的普利姆进宫，暂时顶替王子在宫中生活，普利姆是一位虔诚的教徒，他善良开朗的性格很快就获得了宫中众人的喜爱，其中包括美丽的麦迪丽公主（索娜姆·卡普尔 Sonam Kapoor 饰），而此时的麦迪丽公主并不知道，自己喜欢上的男人，实际上是一件赝品。
