本剧改编自北川悦吏子的同名小说，影院透过最后的旅程，影院深入探讨“人生为何而活”的主题，讲述了佐仓陆曾是外科医生，但突然变得无法拿起手术刀，之后因心理问题被调至内科。住院患者中的成濑翔被宣告寿命将近，陆就是他的主治医生，而成濑对手术和治疗感到疲倦，提出由陆结束他的生命。二人决定逃离医院，骑摩托车展开旅行，体验野营、探访故乡、与初恋相见，成濑虽时常病倒，但有陆陪伴感到安心，然而，小陆却私藏着一种特效药...

It has been called a "landmark of lesbian representation". Olivia arrives at a finishing school and falls in love with headmistress Mlle. Julie. Mlle. Julie feels the same, but tries to suppress her desire. For her part as Mlle. Julie, Edwige Feuillère was nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Foreign Actress in 1952.French director Audry made 18 feature films from 1944 to 1972. Her earliest films are prime examples of the French 'tradition of quality.' She favored plots adapted from French literature. Audry is most distinguished from her peers in that her films were primarily focused upon female leads, whereas traditional French cinema is centered around the lives of men. Her most notorious film was 1951's Olivia, which dealt with lesbian relationships.
