十七岁的少年菀得（刘亚仁 饰）本应该是在最无忧无虑的年华里度过。可是实际情况里，亚洲区菀得的生活只有黑暗没有光明。爸爸是身材矮小的残疾人、亚洲区妈妈是到十七岁才谋面的菲律宾劳工，自己得靠着领救济品才能生活的下去。这样的菀得，周围没有朋友、没有关爱，只有靠自己的拳头解决一切。身边唯一一个不按常理出牌的就是他的班主任兼邻居东洙（金允石 饰），东洙啰嗦赛唐僧，起初不堪其烦的菀得把他视为自己的头号敌人。但随着一些事情的展开，他渐渐感受到来自己东洙的关爱，开始换一种方式看世界，看周围的亲人，于黑暗中拾取了希望和动力，梦想也不再是那般遥不可及。本片获得多项奖项提名。

However, on Christmas Eve, he is visited by the doomed ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley that tells him that three spirits would visit him that night. The first one, the spirit of Christmas Past, recalls his miserable youth when he lost his only love due to his greed; the spirit of Christmas Present shows him the poor situation of Bob's family and how joyful life may be; and the spirit of Christmas Future shows his fate. Scrooge finds that life is good and time is too short and suddenly you are not there anymore, changing his behavior toward Christmas, Bob, his nephew and people in general.
