回复 :横浜の加賀町。小高い山の上にはバイクメーカー山野モーター次期社長の座を狙う柿沼が住んでいて、妻の絹子は野心家の夫に嫌気がさして夫の部下の小笠原と関係を持っている。一方、山の斜面に立ったボロ家には、夫の隆一を仕事中の事故で亡くした国子と弟の弘二が住んでいて、国子は隆一の忘れ形見である武を育てるために中華街で賄い婦をしている。ある日、絹子は小笠原との情事の帰り道、道路に飛び出した武を轢き殺してしまう。新車の発売を間近に控えた柿沼はマスコミ沙汰になるのを恐れてお抱え運転手の菅井を説得、彼に罪を肩代わりさせて国子には示談を申し出る。ところが、息子は菅井に殺されたと信じ込んでいる国子のもとに、たまたま事故を目撃していた老女・久子が現われ、子供を轢いた車を運転していたのは女だったと告げる。真犯人が何の罪にも問われていないことに激怒した国子は、正体を偽って柿沼家に家政婦として入りこみ、柿沼夫妻の一人息子で、死んだ武と同じ５歳の健一を殺すことで復讐を果たそうとするのだが。
