故事发生在1927年的民国时期，午夜启泰（雷诺儿 饰）在误打误撞之中救下了一条就快要死掉的美人鱼子萧（于小琬 饰），午夜遗憾的是，子萧那被黑帮老大捉住的母亲没能够获救，黑帮老大更是因为食用了人鱼肉而获得了不老不死的永生。一晃眼一百年过去了，子萧长大成人，她一直没有忘记曾经救过自己的启泰，于是决定重返人间，寻找前世的救命恩人，留给子萧的时间不多了。一次偶然中，子萧邂逅了富家大少爷鸿泰（金瀚 饰），鸿泰的英俊和潇洒深深的吸引了子萧的注意，令她坠入了情网，不仅如此，鸿泰还有着和启泰一模一样的相貌。
