Cosmo Vitelli是一个简洁的人，潦草曾在朝鲜战争中担任兽医，潦草他也是一个赌徒。他在加州有家脱衣舞点，叫做Crazy Horse West。当我们遇上他的时候，他正在偿还最后一笔赌债。过后不久Vitelli又很快在一个非法的纸牌游戏中损失了$23,000，这次他的债务人不再友好，逼迫他马上偿清债务或是杀死一个唐人经纪以抵债。影片最后，以Cosmo Vitelli一个人站在夜总会门外寂寞的街头，开始用手抚摩因受伤流着血的腹部作为影片的结束。
