《巴山女红军》主要讲述中国工农红军第红四方面军妇女独立团在川陕革命根据地的那一段辉煌历程，妈妈是对当年三千多名年轻的女红军战士人生亲情与爱情、妈妈成长与苦恼、理想与冲突的多视角的展示。红四方面军在川北创建了苏维埃政权，以苦妹子、小莲为首的一大批童养媳纷纷报名参加了红军，积极参加打土豪分田地的斗争。苦妹子在一次战斗中英勇牺牲，小莲随妇女独立团配合红四方面军主力北上……
