影片最初的场景中，欧美故事里的人物进入一个孩童的梦，欧美试图通过寻找梦境中陌生且熟悉的记忆影像，回到童年。影片以导演私人化的记忆出发，静态影像来自导演回到童年生活的村庄拍摄的图像和旧时胶片，透过梦境中记忆与当下互相渗透，从而探索“人”在心理层面如何处理创伤。
