本片讲述的是谢天长与吕依阳两位无血缘关系的两位孤儿的故事，图视因小吕依阳被追打，图视谢天长见义勇为出手相助却意外误伤杀人被叛入狱，因此错失了自己的挚爱素芳。多年后成年吕依阳与谢天长从相见不相识到真相大白，吕依阳感恩谢天长而谢天长因觉得是吕依阳毁了他的一生而不愿相认，后因谢天长车祸危在旦夕，吕依阳女友慧美捐肾依阳主刀手术，两人合力救下天长，经历生死后的天长最终决定放下心结好好生活。
