本片根据搜救犬"叮当"真实背景原型改编，野蛮讲述了消防战士杨奇在一次地震救援中因伤提前退役，野蛮被迫与自己训养多年的搜救犬"叮当"忍痛离别。多年以后，搜救犬"叮当"却偷跑出疗养基地，沦落为流浪犬的它用尽了自己一生寻找最初训导员杨奇的感人故事。
