香港皇家警察萧玉龙（萧玉龙 饰）自多年前的索命惨案以来，争分总算过回正常人的生活。但命衰衰一世，争分虽有娇妻幼儿，可似乎厄运不愿离他而去。他和妻儿以极低的价格租到一幢阴森森的鬼屋，噩梦从此开始。20世纪50年代，酒吧女郎Lucy和美国海军Tim相恋，并在古屋同居。谁知最终劳燕分飞，Tim抛弃怀孕的Lucy独自回国，导致Lucy愤然杀死出生后的儿子，随后自杀，一腔怨气郁结屋中，成为远近闻名的鬼屋。萧时运不济，搬入其中，更倒霉地与Tim生日相同，令飞来横祸祸及妻儿……
