明治时代后期。别名“不死身的杉元”的日俄战争英雄·杉元佐一，视频为了某个目的而前往能够发大财的北海道。在那里，视频有着从阿伊努人手中夺走的莫大藏金这一能够一攫千金的机会。藏金被收监于网走监狱的男人所隐匿，而24名越狱犯身上所刻的刺青则是指示其所在地的线索。此时，遭到棕熊袭击的杉元，被一位阿伊努少女所救。名叫阿席莉帕的这位少女，她的父亲被夺走藏金的男人杀害。不止如此，仿佛与杉元的行动相呼应一般，早就对藏金虎视眈眈的北方最强部队·第七师团以及背负着刺青的越狱犯们的行动也开始浮出水面。以壮阔的北方大地为舞台，这场一攫千金求生行动究竟会如何发展……！？
