回复 :1980年代，某造船厂。袁朗（钱勇夫 饰）为厂里争取到制造出口远洋轮的任务，生产攻坚时刻，进口焊条突然断货。工程师陈启明（刘子枫 饰）受袁朗之托，负责焊条的研制工作。诸晖（朱琳 饰）得知验船师是她三年困难时期分手的恋人冯振羽（高飞 饰），拒绝与其合作，袁朗大光其火，思前想后，诸晖终于走马上任。随着工程不断深入进行，诸多问题与矛盾渐渐暴露出来，袁朗分析利弊，准备大胆改革工资奖金分配制度。随着焊条研制成功，多劳多得的分配原则也使广大职工生产积极性大为提高。袁朗奖惩分明的做法受到一些老工人、老前辈指责，袁朗动之以情晓之以理，终于得到大家的理解......
