刘敏（薛凯琪 饰）是个乐观开朗的女孩子，套戏母亲李再爱（余安安 饰）、套戏舅舅李再生（许绍雄 饰）在庙街摆摊经营歌廊，他们三人与台柱玲姐住在一起，犹如一家人。另一方面，怀才不遇的作曲家张少杰（陈坤 饰）与歌星女友Tracy（赵荣 饰）之间的感情也变质了，少杰感觉Tracy为了名利已丧失了自我，于是他离开了并搬到了庙街，刚好在刘敏的楼上住。两户人很快的相识了，开朗大方的刘敏更深深影响了少杰。Tracy曾利用刘敏想少杰重新回到自己的身边，其实少杰早已知道真相，自此两人彻底分手。这时候，刘敏的生父刘浩云（方中信 饰）回来了。当年他与门当户对的许佩芬（陈小艺 饰）结婚而抛弃怀孕了的李再爱。刘敏曾一度跟着父亲与继母生活，可是在5岁那年，刘敏不幸患上了骨癌，但为了腹中的孩子，佩芬把刘敏交还给李再爱照顾。就这样20年过去了，刘浩云一家的出现引起了众人生活的动荡。好不容易解决了各种的矛盾与分歧，刘敏与少杰也在这时候相爱了，日子仿佛过得很舒适，正当少杰要想刘敏求婚时，刘敏旧病复发了……
